Peep Art

I stumbled upon an article describing a Peep art show.

"Palm Peeps" by Jay and Sam Boggs

"Peeps Prom Dress" by Gracie Beal

"Peeparoni Pizza and Dr. Peepers" by The Sevier Family

My favorite piece out of the three is the palm tree piece. But after looking at all the art pieces people created  I didnt realize peeps came in so many different colors. These pieces were on display in the Carol County Arts Council in Westminster, MD.  On the link posted below is the article with more pictures and even videos people made using peeps. I am inspired!

Peeps and Microwaves

The destruction of peeps isn't a cruel gesture, but just a form of entertainment which makes peeps wonderful.  What makes peeps different from any other candy is that peeps can be played with and also used as decorations. You don't see videos on you tube of people melting Snickers bars. Peeps
can be used as play dough or can be melted on top of ice cream. Yummy!

My favorite death was the death my car scenario.

Yes, this video isn't real but the idea of a peep growing in size and destroying the world is priceless.

I am amazed in how three peeps can expand so rapidly.

Peep Store

There is now a peep store in Maryland. It has a variety of peep candies and merchandise. The Peep and Co. store also sells other Just Born products such as Hot Tamales and Mike and Ikes.

The store appears to be a any peep lover's dream come true. Peep merchandise is very adorable. But I must say that having access to peeps all year round degrades the value of the peep. Peeps are only released during special holiday seasons. If there is now a store that sells them all year round it will take away the joy of seeing the peeps being stocked on the candy store shelves in October for Halloween or at the end of March for Easter.

Facts about peeps

After visiting the peep website I found out a lot of interesting information about peeps.
They were created in 1953. Just born is the company which manufacturers the peeps and at the time of the peeps release they were the biggest marshmallow candy creators in the world. In the 1980s the famous marshmallow bunnies were released. In 2007 sugar free peeps were created.  The peep fan website is pretty cool and has a lot of information and even games about peeps.  The website even has a news letter and will send updates to your email address. The website even has peep recipes for different holidays. Enjoy!

Peep Experiment

During my search of peep related materials I found a wonderful website which does comical experiments on the peep treats. The scientist conducted experiments exposing the peeps to heat, cold and pressure. There was also an experiment regarding the peep's use of alcohol and smoking which I found extremely hilarious.  Peeps were definitely harmed during these experiments, but the information recovered in the process was priceless. This website shows how popular peeps were (and are) and how they had a large fan base when these experiments were conducted around 1998.

For the love of peeps

I am glad there is a marshmallow that represents most of America's major holidays. This blog is dedicated to peeps and is meant to bring together all the peep fans in the world. Peeps are more then just sugar covered marshmallows they are a symbol of happiness throughout the holidays. Peeps although very simple in their shape and taste have been around for ages. Their simple images of bunnies, Christmas trees, and ghosts decorate households and shelves of candy stores throughout the holidays.
